Additional Information

Participants: Participants are musicians who want to improve through performing and participating in master classes, private coaching, performance opportunities and cultural events. (Space is limited to ensure personal attention)

Weekly Activities: Musicians should arrive prepared with music that they plan on presenting in master classes. All musicians will participate in a series of progressive master classes designed to address individual needs in the areas of:

  • making music with a conductor
  • the art of auditioning
  • selecting the correct repertoire for you
  • performance practice
  • musical style
  • interpretation

The program also includes round-table discussions on other issues related to a career in music such as:

  • programming for success
  • stage technique
  • the effective resume/CV
  • networking

Master Classes: All Master Classes are with Maestro Ponti and Isabelle Aubin with a focus on providing intensive study in performance practice and musical preparation with respect to style, tradition, and accuracy of presentation. Special guest faculty offer master classes in their particular area of expertise. Teatro Mercantini 

Private Coaching: Vocal Participants receive individual coaching with Isabelle Aubin, Pianist and Vocal Coach

Performances: Festival di Musica da Camera's summer home is in the famed Teatro Mercantini. All performances are at the discretion of the Maestro Ponti.

Faculty

Guest Artists

Musicians are divided into two sections allowing us to be more efficient in addressing individual's needs in all areas from preparation to performance.  Each participant receives individual attention.  What makes Festival di Musica da Camera special is the opportunity to rehearse and prepare the world's greatest Italian literature with a conductor.  This experience and life lesson will aid you in your preparation for the concert and opera stage, fully preparing you to successfully work with a conductor and orchestra. 

Advanced
Advanced musicians are excellent professionals or advanced graduate and undergraduate students with a high level of experience. These qualified participants will
participate in all of Maestro Ponti's master classes.  They will receive individual coaching with Isabelle Aubin and Maestro Ponti.  They will have performance opportunities, and participate in guest faculty master classes.  Space is limited to ensure personal attention.

Intermediate
The intermediate musicians are excellent graduate and undergraduates, and very advanced devotees who are interested in working toward a goal of becoming a professional performer or educator.  These qualified participants will observe all and participate in several of Maestro Ponti''s master classes. They will receive individual coaching with Isabelle will have performance opportunities and attend guest faculty master classes. Space is limited to ensure personal attention.

 

The schedule:
The first master class each day begins at
10:00 till 13:00.  After lunch, participants enjoy riposo, the traditional Italian midday rest time.  Scheduled private coaching begins at 16:00 with the second master class beginning at 18:30 till 20:00.  Although we discuss the daily schedule each morning at breakfast there will be a schedule posted daily that will announce which singer and what repertoire to be presented each session.  Vocal coaching will be arranged with Isabelle Aubin.  Evenings are free to enjoy the lovely village of Ripatransone unless we have a scheduled session or performance. (All details subject to change).

Housing and meals:
All participants are housed in the comfortable and beautiful, Istituto Santa Teresa "Casa Per Ferie." All rooms are double occupancy, newly renovated, equipped with modern amenities, telephone and television,with bathroom and showers in rooms.  The festival fee includes breakfast-lunch-dinner prepared and served by the wonderful Suore of Istituto Santa Teresa.  It is traditional home cooking from the
Marche region deliciously prepared and served with love.

Tuition and cost:
The festival fee is $2,500 USD, which includes: 
Tuition, Room (double occupancy), Board (three meals per day), Program Activities, Master Classes, Public Performances, Private Coaching, Round Table Discussions.  Cultural Activities (additional fee may be required).  Transportation between the U.S. and Ripatransone is the responsibility of each participant.  All fees are non-refundable.
